We had a call with Clay Sanford who works as a media relations specialist at the IRS. Clay provided us with some great information, particularly for servicemembers regarding the economic stimulus plan. While combat pay generally is nontaxable, servicemembers are permitted to count this pay on their 2007 or 2008 income tax returns if it helps their eligibility to receive an economic stimulus reimbursement.
